Description

This piece was directly inspired by the painting 'Monastery Graveyard in the Snow' ('Cloister Cemetery in the Snow') 'Klosterfriedhof im Schnee' (German) by German Romantic artist Caspar David Friedrich. The original painting was destroyed in 1945 during WW2.

This is so lovely, Rusty! You've re-created that gloomy mystical feeling of many of CDF's works; those creepy tree limbs are almost alive - reaching over to the monks. But the surreal twist of the organic rock archway contrasting with the rigid Gothic façade is all yours!!
