At first my mind said beer n carrot, then the Homer Simpson moment was over and I wanted to throw a ten pound wild atlantic salmon to see if the polar bear might prefer one or the other...;) You do not want to get this close to a wild polar bear...

Beautiful capture of such a majestic creature. When I was visiting San Diego zoo 11 years ago the polar bear did not look very happy. There was very little water in his enclosure, he was overheated and there wasn't much space for him to roam and he looked very distressed. I left the zoo feeling quite sad for him. If it is the same bear he looks much more contented. Thank you for sharing.
