Description

I'm trying to get back into the Science Fiction stuff I used to love making, but inspiration seems hard to come by. This is an attempt at tinkering with planetary and lunar textures in Bryce, with an eye towards making backgrounds and lunar bodies that don't require post-work adjusting. All of the textures here are my own, both for the gas-giant and the two moons. The starscape backgrounds and faint nebula was made in Photoshop.

I always enjoy your sci-fi renders, Mike. I particularly like the gas giant with its swirly vortex.

Nice! I might suggest a bit more variation and contrast in color.

Looks great, Mike! I have to admit I've missed your excellent spacescapes and ships.

Like both of them, especially the lunar one. Geirla's suggestion is a good one. Sorry to be away for so long. Been a very hard 12+ months for me in terms of creativity. Also some other issues I had to deal with. Will eventually catch up, though.

This is quite gorgeous. I love planet shots like these and I have to say that I love your textures. As it's winter in Chicago, I have to get out and get some ice shots. We haven't had much snow yet, but oh well...we'll see what happens. This is definitely inspiring and the colors/surface textures/atmosphere is all top-notch work. You're so good at these!
