Description

Coy Pond up to the top after heavy rain and the culvert being blocked. I enjoyed a bit of a painterly fiddle with this one, but see an unadulterated view Here

A beautiful spot! It looks ideal for you to sit on the bench and wash your feet! I cannot see your fiddling? Maybe i should visit specsavers

Beautifully processed and pretty place. I was thinking the same thing-the ducks have a larger pond for swimming now.

This is gorgeous and it seems to prove my theory that ducks and other aquatic birds are beginning to express expansionist tendencies: sure you can blame rain and a blocked culvert, but I wonder if it wasn't the ducks (in little orange work-vests and hard-hats) blocking it: a dead giveaway might have been the earth-moving equipment with the company name, "Quack, Quack, & Quack" emblazoned on the side. Okay, maybe that has nothing to do with this image, but then, I do ramble on a bit. Now, as for the image: it's rather peaceful. The water, though it's broken its bank, is gorgeous: so still and peaceful looking, and I agree. That bench is perfectly placed for someone to have a nice combination sit-down and foot wash. The painterly effect is nice and subtle and it works really wall with the original photo. This has a nice, dreamy quality to it.

I can't help but think of our own Lincoln Park from this version, as well as the original version. (Almost every park shot, in my gallery, is Lincoln Park. Chip, above, would know it intimately. And lol, his comment.) Your treatment is felt, but subtle. You let the soft silvery feel of the shot come through. And the light partially dissolves the stringy leaves on top. A very fall-like scene, rich but tinted blueish-silver and gray, hues of late fall brings. (In the midwest, we'd call these very "November-y" hues.) There's a purple tint to it all, too. I don't know how low the pond was, pre-rain, but it has a lazy lay-around feel after the rain. Another atmospheric, soft and mystical-feeling shot of water and trees, from you. And it looks like a little paradise to rest in. Moody and beautiful. Andrea, I've hit 2 full hours, so my first long journey in your gallery (in some weeks) must come to an end for today. (Right about the 2 hour mark, my words start to pack up and call a taxi.) But it is a pleasure-supreme, a real treasure to come here for a long visit. I'll be back...but I can say I visited Andrea today! Wonderful work as always. A glorious array...

It does look like a serene place to see again, especially with the beginning of the submersion by the tree ... and all that moss around it, makes it even more appealing. BB

I like your version best. Beautiful scene from your Claude Monet period I'm guessing.

The ducks don't seem to mind at all; that's a lot of extra water, I hope it's gone back to normal by now. We've had some flooding issues like that too, but it's been so dry for a couple of weeks now that there's not a puddle anywhere. I hope that changes soon!

I would venture on to that first bench to relax and enjoy the view. It would be worth getting my feet wet!
