Description

Is there a problem, officer? More of my once hidden and/or neglected fun and imaginative period of Bryce and Poser work from 2002 through 2006, now on display. I previously posted this far in the past, possibly in this gallery, or perhaps another. I didn't bother to check. When I first came up with this concept ten years ago, I thought with the rapid pace of technology, that many of us would be driving around in hydrogen powered vehicles by now. Even with hybrid, diesel and electric autos now on the road, they're in the vast minority; the internal combustion engine still rules the roost. So much for prognostication. Ergo, I won't dare prophesy when or if any of the above will occur. I originally thought around the mid 21st century, but that's now off the table. Anyway, in this concept, everything in the future is still colorful, except for the clothing, which will be jet black, and worn by everybody. So, no fancy and flamboyant togs to look forward to. Oh, and before I forget, mega thanks to the persons I don't have a record of who created these vehicles for me to play with. Cheerio.

Not in our lifetime anyway. But it's a definite possibility in the future. This is an amazing conceptualization. ..It's great, nice job!

Harry, this is a very cool concept of what you thought it might have been.

Oh ... that the people already in the crowded sky ... and already has a projection for font ... Western society for a hundred years ... the atmospheric pollution at that time with all these seem catasterophique vehicles added to ground vehicles multiply by "n" noise pollution and that of the air! spectaculum terribile visu !!!

I think I know what you mean, but the vehicles you see will be powered by anti gravity devices with no noxious pollution. In any case, I hope by then that most ground vehicles will run on nonpolluting and energy saving engines. You like science fiction, so, get with it, Claude.

For safety reasons, in the future, any such vehicles would have to be piloted by the local traffic control system, so the only reason for the pull-over would be for something like a burned out navigation light.

Pure speculation, just like mine. Perhaps driverless cars would be controlled, but any vehicles operated by human drivers could certainly do something stupid, like DUI, changing lanes side to side or up and down without signaling, flying past the speed limit, ad infinitum.

You got some pretty thought-out responses to the 'futurism' here. I do hope that the future will bring non polluting and energy saving devices, and I too thought we'd start to see a transformation by now; but maybe we'll need a jolt from history for it to happen...In any case, the feeling of this image is that the drivers in the sky are pretty relaxed, without too much concern for banging into each other. It's a tranquil scene---very different from an average day in LA or Chicago! (It should only be this way, one day.) And the roofs of the two ground vehicles---roofs or hoods---have wonderful reflections in them, like built in maps. (I assume you've warped the landscape to create those reflections.) All black clothing? Well that lady has strong red hair, so she's got a good contrast. Again, strong use of vivid color in these old Bryce and Poser pieces, clear sense of "presence" (in the vehicles and people) and a sense of whimsy and play. If real traffic were ever this relaxed---those dudes in the sky look like they're just floating along!---traffic would be a gas! (No pun intended.) Delightful graphic thinking here; and the blue of the 'star' car is rich and saturated, like so many of the hues in this series.
