Description
While hunting for Elk and Deer this last September, John pointed out this valley. He said it is named Old Man Valley! this is the easy way down, the rest of the valley walls are VERY steep, hence the name.
Things to remember and keep in mind!
Be very sure of your shot
have a partner to help you retrieve the game
have a lot of very stout rope to assist you going down and especially coming back up
and, most of all, be prepared to rest up the rest of the day and night.
this shot was taken at the edge of the valley wall, and yes, it is that steep - no optical illusion here

Yeah! That looks pretty steep! I would be reluctant to try it at my age anymore! I am so out of shape! My Dad used to hunt elk out in Montana back in the 50s and 60s. It was always one of his most cherished activities! Even if he didn't bring home a prize, he always had great stories to tell of the fun he and his brother and friends had in their efforts! Great memories!

I'd still prefer shooting elk with a camera, more of a challenge. But it sure is pretty country. Looks to be a 45 degree slope.

Going down is easy (gravity assist...) it's getting back up that's the challenge! A great landscape photo, Mike! That does look pretty steep - and this was the 'easy' way down? Wow....
