Description

The aforementioned fountain grass by the railroad tracks, captured 11/18/13, very early in the am, in the area of one of my favorite stomping grounds. And, again, looking blindly into the sun to snap another high key photo. Much better contrast and detail via ZOOM. Ciao.

Fantastic detail in this lovely grass, Harry; the purple flare here is a lovely counterpoint to the wispy grassheads. Beautiful work!

Very pretty shot, Harry, I love how the sun makes the fronds glow with light. Very nice!

Your into-the-sun shots have rendered beautiful light-saturated results. This is beautiful for the way the grasses are made of light as much as of plant-material. You've done this before with fronds and with grasses, and the results get ethereally delicate. I also like that it's all in front of a mini-wall---which acts like a backdrop to the grasses. And the sun flare fits right in, to me. Beautiful work. And You have a purple "circle' started at bottom---more flare I assume---which the grasses seem to continue on the top of the circle. Another luminous sun drenched shot in your gallery.

Happy Birthday, Harry! This is a beautiful image on a beautiful gallery page. When I saw this image, I thought of all the times that I have seen light like this on grasses of various kinds, taken a picture or 3, looked at them later and thought, "No, that didn't quite catch it." You did catch it! Absolutely brilliantly! The grass is relishing the sun and seems to be dancing with joy. The green stalks are beautifully detailed and make wonderful lines that lead up to the swaying seed heads. The composition and depth of field with the slightly out of focus patch of grass to the right, makes it look like a party. In fact the patch of grass on the right seems to have wandered into the road (a hazard of too much celebrating). The straight lines of the walls and shadows make a nice contrast for the gently curved grass and the circle made by the lens flare and grass. A beautiful and very rich capture; filled with light and motion.
