Description
I am still working on shaders and lighting. I am using Reality plugin, and looking for help for added realism. The eyes did not come out correctly. I believe my settings for eye whites were diffuse 220/220/220 specular 20/20/20, glossiness 9500.
I believe I've discovered the "surface fuzz" setting is actually a blurring mask. Much detail is lost.
Any help with eyes and skin is greatly appreciated.

A very good render, and especially good if you are new to reality! My first piece of advice would be to look up some of the fine instructional videos Paolo created...they make a lot of things much clearer when you can actualy see the effects. The surface fuzz setting is best used on just the skin surfaces(not the lips either). Personally on every skin I use,I set the glossiness to 8000 and then adjust the spec colour up or down depending on how shiny or realistic I want it.(but I always AOA subsurface it 1st)even though until the release of reality 4 in December it doesnt use all the effects of subsurface ,it is still a nice shader as a starting point. The eyes are always a problem when you 1st use reality, until you understand the way reality/lux works....so differently from 3Delight or Firefly. 1st the cornea part needs to be set glass/architectural transmission 240 240 240 reflection 255 255 255 make sure all texture maps are removed in the Glass, alpha channel and modifier tabs....and also the the opacity in the alpha channel is set to 1.00. Eye surface (if using G2 models) needs to be 0.00 in the alpha channel, in effect gone;] but i always remove any texture maps in there as well. Iris, pupils and lacrimals you want no real spec on them at all so i usually drop it to black or very dark. the sclera...as it is white the spec can be high or low and glossiness has no major effect..just do a test render if unsure The tear is a matter of taste...reality converts it to glass/like the cornea...but I find this can create unwanted reflections..I just drop the alpha channel to 0.00 and get rid of it;] I hope this is of some help and at least some things to try;]

The image looks pretty good actually. You got the color values almost perfect to match the background. However, one thing that can hurt realism when integrating with photos is incorrect placement of the main light. The background photo shows the light coming from the left, while the figure is lit from the right. Are you using Poser, Daz Studio or ??? Nice image, keep up the good work.
renmmk
Yes, this is the issue. The image is supposed to be lit by "HDRI" meaning the light comes from the background image. However, as you can tell, I've done something wrong because the lighting and the source don't match. I'm using the reality plugin for Daz. Thank you for your help.
