Description

Auricularia auricula-judae This widespread and very common fungus had really enjoyed the recent damp weather. Unfortunately for me it was 12 feet up in a tree, so sharp it is NOT! Today we had our very first frost of the Autumn. No more sandals for gardening for a while. See a single specimen that was nearer Here

It does look well covered by those wax like ears! A great find, and excellent capture! I haven't seen any of these for years for some reason.

Such songs as "I talk to the trees" and song lines like "Because you told the blabbering trees" now have a whole new meaning :)

I talk to the trees But the next line is But they don't listen to me So its just a waste of time. But this image is not a waste of time. A terrific capture. I like the flickr image for its delicate features and lighting.

Yes, a little fuzzy when zoomed, but it looks just fine unzoomed. Sometimes smaller is better...

That's a fine shot from such distance, fascinating fungus. It certainly is getting cold... mornings certainly are and spotted frost on the roofs too.

These are so pretty! Not so common here, and I wish they were. Beautiful shot, especially for the distance!

This zoomed very nicely and they do look like the flesh of human ears! Two wonderful photos!
