Description
Thought I'd have a go at creating an ornithopter from Frank Herberts's Dune. Hope I got the feel right.

Thank you so much. If anyone is interested I'm thinking of putting the ornithopter on site for people to use for free.

Very interesting-looking aircraft, and superb mood and atmosphere. Where are the giant sandworms? :D
steveHolden
Trust me, the sandworms are coming. :) Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you, yet again, for your kind words. I'm currently working on a version of a troop carrier. Hopefully that will be on site with an appropriate quote from the book in a few days. (I tend to work on about 3 -4 images at the same time so I can step back and view them with a refreshed perspective after a break from working on an image).

I hadn't imagined them this way ( i saw them almost steampunk)... but this really feels right

Thank you for your kind words. I have to admit a struggle with some of Frank Herbert's descriptions. They seem to evolve over the book as he writes. Take a look at the different descriptions of the face masks and the nose plugs. It's all good fun, though. Yes, I agree, there does seem to be an element of steampunk probably because there are no computers allowed in the Dune Empire. I tried to reflect that in the wings. Thank you again.
