Description

Cairn: a man-made pile (or stack) of stones. The word cairn comes from the Scottish Gaelic: càrn (plural càirn. To keep city folk like me from getting hopelessly lost in the wilderness the rangers in Arches National Park have expended enormous amounts of effort in building trail markers known as cairns to point the way. Sometimes they get pretty creative.
