Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

A stunning view! It's actually the Crooked River Bridge in Oregon, just south of Lake Billy Chinook on Hwy 97. It's a toe-curler, all right! I think it's about 300 feet to the bottom. Yikes! This is a great shot. Bill came in and saw it on my screen and said, "wow ... that's excellent!" ... and he didn't even know it was yours! :)

TY, Tara, I realized my mistake as soon as I saw the foto again. That's what happens when you're in so many places in a relatively short time. I didn't know WHERE the heck I was!! lol

Lol, tara doesn't only know the 'state', she knows the freaking name, the highway it's on, the lake it's near, the guy who lives 2 blocks down, and the name of the gas station where you can get these really cool postcards...In the meantime, I look at it and think, "oh yeah, that's not Montana! That's Oregon, for SURE!!!" Riiiiight. To me, you know where this is? DEFINITELY NOT CHICAGO!!! We don't have a lotta "gorges" in chicago. Not too many. A big looming shot, and since you give very little above the landline, it's all loom and plunge. Good choice! It may not be that huge a gorge---I mean compared to the Grand Canyon---but it feels big because of your choices here. And one side's in sunlight, the other not. And a big bridge right at the top of the shot. Nice work, Marilyn, you knew just what to catch to get the feel of the place. I assume you were on another bridge? Or on the edge??? It's a scary looking place. And as for "if it's tuesday this must be belgium," I'm sure you had that a lot on some of your trips, because of how much you saw in a short period of time. Big looming shot, here.
