[ Please ZOOM to see details! ] Continuing on with the makeover for the Araneé cast, this is Mubela. She is the last surviving member of a warrior clan of dark elves, and therefore frequently wears the black combat clothing of the champion of her clan. When her people were overrun, she was sold by her captors to people who arranged arena spectacles - fights to the death. She was shipwrecked while on her way to another match and Lord Jobil rescued her. She ultimately became captain of Lord Jobil's personal bodyguard, chief weapons instructor of his castle, and a special messenger on dangerous missions. She does not warm up to people quickly, but once she befriends you she will protect you with her life. Her relationship with Araneé is telling: She calls her "sister". Lord Jobil has ordered Mubela and a small contingent of trusted soldiers on extended assignment to Araneé. She is there to protect Araneé - and Bellikor as he unravels the mystery of the leaderless Disputed Lands. If you are new to the Araneé story or want to refresh your memory, the first episode is HERE. Each episode has links to the next chapter. Try to ignore the primitive graphics in these early episodes and stick with it for the first 10 chapters or so to get the real flavor of the story. Mubela is V4 with the awesome "Mariah" freebie skin from Syltermermaid. (Unfortunately this tex does not come with a bump map so I had to create my own.) Her clothes are mostly freebies, although some of what you see here is from Daz Courageous set. Also a plug for a friend: I had trouble with her eyes, so I used PhilW's awesome "Bright Eyes" Carrara shaders to set things right. The castle set is mostly Daz Castle Creator and Daz Barn, with a couple of undocumented freebies thrown in. As usual, I've had to tweak almost every texture in order for them to render well in Carrara. This is my 200th image here on Rendo and this is Thanksgiving, so it is a time for reflection. All of this started when I accidentally stumbled into a free download of Daz Studio 2.0 - and I can't believe I've done so much (or SPENT so much LOL!) with 3D art since then. I would not still be doing this after seven years or so if it weren't for all the encouragement, tips, advice, criticism, and incredibly generous gifts given to me by you folks here on Rendo.
