Those of us in the States who just concluded observing Thanksgiving can attest, there is often only a handful of times where there is just too much food to be eaten. Certainly, if this was the case at your home or where you went for dinner it was something to be truly thankful for. Michelle learned last year when she met Caleb's parents for the first time at Thanksgiving dinner to wear something loose and comfortable to dinner. She learned rather unexpectedly too, as the button on her slacks popped after dinner. It was safe to say it was an embarrassing situation. This year she thought she had planned her wardrobe out a little better with a sweater and a loose fitting skirt. She did well there too; however, she didn't plan on his mother going all out on dinner this year with additional courses and desserts. Well, dinner had concluded and the table had been cleared. They all let their dinner settle before indulging in the ample supply of desserts too. When all had concluded she felt more stuffed than last year, but it wasn't until she stood to retreat to the living room that this years' embarrassing moment came. As she arose from the table she could sense she had really over eaten this year, and felt her now bloated belly. All of the sudden Caleb's mother shouted; "Dear, you're going to look beautiful as an expected mother, you've got such a magnificent glow, and just look at that belly!" Thankfully that's not been an experience I've had to endure; but dinner was wonderful and very filling this year. I don't think it was entirely the meal either, but perhaps a few "adult" beverages that caused me to retire early that evening too. Driving home in what felt like rush hour traffic didn't help either; but I wish the stores would have stayed closed too.
