Description

Yesterday's dog walk on the beach in lovely unseasonal weather. Today is less pleasant. My friend David the boatman who makes his living from fishing here, told me that a mother and baby seal are raiding his nets, and just leaving the heads. They also bite the squid, just taking the juicy bit. They'll move on soon, but it's a nuisance this time of year with no income from the hire boats.

This could seriously be my local beach.....although my groyne is much more weather beaten by the elements! No pun intended..........

Wonderful looking beach scene. With shots like this I always expect to see Buster wading through the surf.

Nice shot - I especially like that weather-beaten wooden wall covered in green algae (I assume it's algae - maybe moss?) that cuts a dramatic diagonal & the foamy wave residue. The cormorant is just a bonus...

There is something alluring about a deserted beach, especially on a bright day! Beautiful shot and compo!

Excellent POV leading the eye directly to the cormorant doing his best Leo DiCaprio impression "I'm king of the world!" I expect David gets some competition from these sea birds as well.

False eye lasses are needed tons more false eye lashes LOL! They used to be made from seal skin. More fond memories of 2009! Was it really 5 years ago? Seems like yesterday.

Great composition. I never tire of your beach! Give it to me at about 60F and nobody around, and I'll feel right at home! :P

They have that same problem at the BC coast, Orcas raid the salmon nets biting off the bodies and leaving the heads stuck in the gill nets. Fishermen shoot at the whales all the time and most are carrying lead in their bodies.

Beautiful perspective looking down Groyne 6 and I like this array of bolts! Not happy for David and his poachers!

Wow, this is such an impressing and cool shot, Andrea. I love that green color, and the other details on that wood. Indeed, as Tara wrote your beach pics are always so beautiful. btw, since a while we watch on the t.v. 'Bed & breakfast UK', and we saw some in Bournemouth, what a surprise!
