Description

Archimedes makes the final adjustments to the new head he designed for Herman and installs it into his robot. Severy adjustments later, he switches on Herman and runs the initial diagnostics to verify all the connections. Everything is solidly in the green which is great! 'How are you feeling, Herman?' he absently asks the robot. 'I feel great! Do you wish a demonstration?' answers Herman and he jumps to the middle of the room and starts doing cartwheels and handstands in place! 'Oh snap!' thinks Archimedes. 'I really messed up somewhere in my calculations.' as he tries to stay out of the robots display of agility. He can't get the shocked look off his face for awhile as Herman continues his antics. 'Will you please stop!' Archimedes says in a stern voice. Immediately, Herman flips onto his feet and stands at attention. 'Your every wish is my command, Archimedes! I have been wishing we could communicate ever since you first assembled me and started me working in your lab.' 'This is a most amazing development,' says Archimedes. 'How is it you are able speak so intelligently. I haven't even worked on you language skills yet.' 'This brain you placed in me has accessed all the memory I had in my previous mind and has been able to extrapolate many higher form functions from them. As you get to know me better and as we explore what I have become together, I am sure you will continue to be amazed at what you have created in me. I hope not to disappoint you, Archimedes.' 'I doubt there is much change of that.' Archimedes says in a low voice. 'For now, I have to run many more scans of your systems and see just what levels of intelligenc you have.' With that, he instructs Herman to interface with the mainframe, as he sits down in front of his own workstation monitors. He can see he has a great deal of work ahead of him.
