Description
What are ye waiting for with all that posturing, ye bumptious rogue! Get on with it! I'll slice ye up like I did my third husband!
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
The bottom shot shows another brave, but overmatched, dueling partner to challenge the Grande Dame. She may have been the precursor to Catherine Zeta-Jones in The Mask of Zorro.
And, sorry to say that this is the end of the En garde series. In fact, we're somewhat near the end of the entire Fun at the Faire series itself.
Shalom.

I'm a bit surprised to see a women yielding the sword; bravo. Great series of photos taking in the action.

I wonder if he took it easy on her because she was a female? I see he has two blades, and I don't see that she has any more than just the sword, which she has to use with both hands...bravo for her, I'll bet that was a great match to see! Fantastic shots of this duel, Harry, I love it!

As I've said, you got an enormous riches of shots from this one outing, and you've coaxed and persuaded and molded and done alchemy on many of them due to the light or the angle or the impossibility of standing just where you wanted, etc, and it's a lesson in how to find the best shots from within a mass of 'shots'. Not to say that the originals weren't fine, but that you pulled out the best from all of them. And getting over 150 shots from one day's shoot---which are vivid, exciting, fun, wild, etc etc---is a real feat. The clarity and vividness of the hues here are standout in quality. And the contrast between the man and the woman---esp in costume---is brought out vividly. It can't be too easy to fence in that gown, but she does look like she's enjoying herself. As for her being in a duel with her third husband, I guess that's a good thing to check on before marrying: Does your wife wield a mean sword...Very vivid captures. When you post the final one, I guess we'll have to go into mourning...
