Description
Captured 10/18/14. While waiting for the festivities to begin, might as well take pics of the people gathering en masse along the boulevard.
Auf wiedersehen.

Great candid shot of the gathering masses, Harry. They have a Halloween parade there? How cool!

Great catch. No such thing here as a Halloween parade. Interesting idea though; especially as we're often in for poor weather shortly afterwards, if it hadn't already arrived as it sometimes does.

I want to do more faire shots, since I've neglected them of late, but I keep coming to others that I want to do as well. This is one. That woman 'grounds' the shot---the one in red---because she moves through the lines of people on both sides of the sidewalk. (Seated people.) And she gives the shot its key motion. It's really well caught, a street shot where the key player is a single person in striking red, whose purposes seem wholly other than this coming-parade. In the meantime, the row of umbrellas makes a wonderful 'shield'. And the open street back there gives the openness demanded of all this cloistered activity. Well balanced, very pleasing lines, and a great capture of a person walking right through the middle of it all, seemingly unconcerned with everything else. Much more here than meets the eye at first. And really cool that you're posting a halloween parade in December---and people are without coats! Man, try that in Chicago on Halloween. It's a different world out there!
