Description
A few shots of our band The Nautilus back in 1970-1971.
we wanted to become rockn roll stars,lol,but we miserably failed,first we had no money and no support from the parental side,we had no tapes,no real place to exercise,the neighbours did not allowed someone exercising on drums or guitar,in the 60s and 70s as a kid you had no voice you had to shut up when the adults have been talking,and not much things were allowed.
anyway besides this one of the members (guy on rhytm) was not really one of us,so he left,after that i had a little adventure in amsterdam,trying out lsd and grass - lol,after that my mother died and the band just vanished.No i am in close contact to our lead Guitarist John and we will meet soon,in the beginning of 2015.
A couple weeks ago i received news that the guy on Bass - Paul has died a while ago,but i have no news about how or when exactly,there will be a class meeting organised the following year,and i will try to find out more on this.The ones that are left over (at least 3 have died) will become 60 years old ,time to meet and rocknroll.In first grade we have been a mixte class Boyz and Girlz.
ps the good looking sob on the drums thats me muahahahahahah,they nicknamed me "Jesus".............well lol!!

That is a great insight into Making and Breaking of the band, I played Guitar but did not have the confidence to play in a band but I was a Rodie and Light show technician.

I had a band as well, just out of high school. we played a few gigs but life got in the way and we disbanded as well Great captures and narratives

So young! and sOOO much hair!! I remember those days. Ray had just learned the guitar and sat around composing these long, dramatic songs in our living room. We couldn't afford dope or booze, but we would sit up all night talking with friends watching the lava lamp swirl. Those were the days and boy am I glad I can't go back! Too much angst to have to deal with. I prefer being able to play the "old" card and knowing how to relax past most worries. I have to say, though, that you were a good looking group.

Rene, thank you so much for sharing this amazing collage from the days with your band. Sounds like you had a bit of an up hill battle with everything working against you guys back then, but obviously you have some great memories from those days. I had no idea you were a drummer, that is cool.

Stuff like this is a mixed bag, as we used to say ;) It's great to look at the old images and reminisce but then you realize how damn old you've gotten and wonder that you're still alive, as well. Puts everything into a sort of strange perspective. Wonderful images and thanks for sharing!
