Description
The Eiger is a 13,020 foot (3,970 meters) mountain in Switzerland. In 1975 Clint Eastwood starred in the “Eiger Sanction” playing a character tasked with identifying and killing a Russian assassin who is a member of a team climbing the Eiger. At one point in the film he is seen climbing a sheer rock face. The secret to this scene is that it was not filmed in Switzerland. It was filmed in Monument Valley and the rock face was actually a 420 (130 meters) foot tall pillar known as the Totem Pole, seen below.
The group to the right of the Totem Pole is known as the Yei Bi Chei or Paternal Gods and represent dancers at the Yei Bi Chei Night Chant. This is a healing ceremony where the patient is sweated, sometimes inside a small sweat-lodge. A medicine, hogan is built in advance of the rite. There are three medicine-men who don Yei Bi Chei masks representing the gods Haschéltî, Talking God, Haschbaád, Goddess, and Haschélapai, Gray God. They enter the medicine Hogan followed by the patient, after which singing begins. This ceremony can last as long as nine days.

A magnificent zoom and the tower on the left looks like an old steam railway engine perched on a hill !! I see some faces too.

That ceremony could deal the death blow by it's very length! Your photos from your trip are unlike any of the others I've seen, and your narratives make them doubly exciting. Thankyou for you revelations about Wayne, I feel exonerated.
