Description

Had to work today, but will return to your galleries tomorrow. But in the night, I did a map! Helle's been urging me to return to my map art (and yes, my last abstract was inspired by her---thank you, H !!!) But this is my first "full" map in several years. Please zoom---there's all kinds of detail, and it's verrrry long... Thank you, everyone, you've been so grand, and I'm very grateful. Have a good night! Mark (photoshop)

Good heavens, among your many talents - artist, novelist, photographer, philosopher, musician - you are also a cartographer! But, alas, upon appraising this beautiful map, I find it difficult to interpret the notes and words, like it was done for Christopher Columbus before he set sail for what he believed would be India. And, miracle upon miracles, am I to finally post a comment before SchroomMagic and auntietk? But I digress. Splendid colors, fonts, sentences, design, et al, in this vast expanse of cartography, Mark.

Psychedelic cartography now preparation for a journey of the mind I reckon we'll see some cellophane trees of yellow and green and plasticene porters with looking glass ties and even perhaps a marmalade sky lovely work as always thanx Mark for this trippy looking map!!

How arcane and mysteriously cryptic! I'm sure if you run this through some sort of wave detector it would come out something completely different, such as one of Chip's novels or a piece of music...stunning work, Mark!

Mark, as always you never cease to amaze me and Harry said it best about just how talented you truly are. My only regret in coming to visit your gallery tonight is I'm a bit tired and am not able to focus on the amazing detailing to be found throughout. I'll certainly be back tomorrow to examine this amazing creation and thank you for taking the time to create a map for the first time in so long.

How deliciously extraordinary and exciting! I suspect I'd need a special compass and a new set of skills to explore this terrain and what an adventure that would be ! Truly amazing.

OH WOAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a totally extraordinary, wild, awesome MAP this is. And where the heck did you get the stamps with Danish Town names and routes? This is SOO freaking cool :-))) There is so much to see and this could take all morning, if I had time enough to sit a couple of hours with this. But I´LL BE BACK. :-) Thank you for taking up my suggestings :-) It is a good way to wake up :-))))))))))))))))))))))))

Aside from the map thing, which is very cool, as an abstract composition this is wonderful! The dark circles, arrows, text, stamps ... everything combines with flowing color and lines to make a cohesive whole. I had no idea some of it was Danish. So glad Helle commented before I got back to look at this again! (Seeing it on the phone just wasn't a rich, full experience. I knew I'd have to come back when I was on the laptop!) So I guess if I followed the directions on the map I would end up at Helle's house? That makes it doubly valuable, both as a guide and as a terrific piece of art!

Now this is one very imaginative map of a wildly colorful and fascinating land, where anything and everything is possible, especially for free spirits and adventurers. If they had maps like this when I was in school, I would have liked geography a lot better. Delightful and very fun, Mark.
