Un ancien chemin militaire en forêt de Fontainebleau, pour monter sur le Petit Mont Chauvet d'énormes canons de 5m de long (!), destinés à l'entraînement des artilleurs, à partir de 1874. La montée s'effectuait avec des chariots où se trouvaient les futs des canons, tirés par nombre de chevaux. Les canons tiraient à 20km, ce qui était énorme pour l'époque.
