Description

Just two more portrait doodles. Made while I was listening to debate. Ink and graphite on Moleskine. Have a lovely new coming week. We had cold and windy weather all day and rain too. Thank you for you kind comments to my previous posts :)

My doodles look nothing like this! This is simple and elegant and I like that a lot. It's always an amazing experience to see something blank and then (later) to see something that has emerged from that blankness, and I love the young/old contrast. It makes me think of a progression of time...a single character's life shown at two opposing ends with all sorts of stories in between them (the stories are always in the "blank" places, you know.) This is excellent. Feel free to do more.

It's amazing to me that you can do this while you listen to debate; mine would be a little scribble followed by a blank line (as I fell asleep)...not too good at listening to debate!

I'm with Denise ... I can't stand to listen to debates, either. You must be the most patient person in the world, to be able to sit through political chit-chat! If I were trying to draw the people, the result would be very different. First of all, you might look at them and think I had drawn a very nice picture of a doggie, or perhaps a hamster or a bicycle. Then you might wonder why the drawing pad had been stabbed through multiple times with a sharp pencil! LOL! After a little while I would want to kill them all. :P I'm glad you can do it though, because your drawings are worth seeing!

You have given the man a most sensitive expression, with few lines. Clever! I like the contrast between the two.
