Description
I think I may have seen this phenom before with appearing to have stitches in a straight line, but doubt if I ever got a picture.
I am at a loss as to what the name is

Very interesting shot Richard. I'm not sure but could that line be caused by a jet? It sort of looks like the white trails we generally see streak across a blue sky that shows where a plane went.

actually the white areas were not white in the original photo, but appeared to holes in the clouds. I thought about a jet causing it but I heard none

Great shot! My idea is that it is a plane just above the clouds making a wake similar to a boat in water which allows more light to pass through in those spots, not neccessarily creating a normal contrail, ..... or ET going home :)
