Description
"One afternoon, when I was four years old, my father came home, and he found me in the living room in front of a roaring fire, which made him very angry. Because we didn't have a fireplace." - Victor Borge
A shot into a fire in our wood stove. One of the pleasures of winter is sitting by a warm fire, though yesterday it was unseasonably warm here - in the mid 60's & it certainly doesn't look like we're going to have a white Christmas...

I'm thinking of an outdoor fire pit here, but so far it's just thinking. Your picture makes me think a bit harder, though. Lovely!

Awesome capture and the weather's pretty warm here in TX too, so I don't think we will get any snow here either this year. Well, still hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas!

What a lovely shot, it looks so warm and inviting; we have a fireplace, but it has an insert and has to be all closed up when lit. I miss the old open style!

First, I haven't heard from Victor Borge in an age---and I say, Hello V! Good to see you among the living once more! (He was originally going to be a concert pianist, in Denmark, but his comic bits took him another direction.) As for the picture, that's an intense fire shot. You got the glow in the wood, the consuming glow in the lower portion, the fiery yellows in the embers, and a big blast of yellow fire atop---actually, 2 blasts, one is almost white. It makes the interior seem tight and close. This is beautiful. I don't remember seeing other fire shots in your gallery before, but I feel I have because of the fire you bring out in other scenes. (Inner fire.) Now we get to see it in fire, itself. An intense searing shot. Makes me regret living in a high rise, because there are few high rises with fireplaces. (Btw, Tara read your comment on that "P" upload, and she concurred, in her comment, about Jim Fitzpatrick and how terrific he is. I re-uploaded the original P, finally...not saying that to get a comment, as you already commented; but to tell you I finally got it up. I actually considered doing an "educational" upload, a Kells page with simple annotations, explaining some symbols, pointing out the amazing animals inside, etc...but it would be pedantic, so I decided against it. But your photos strike me as in the same territory, because both are looking for the fire and life inside of things...)

A fine contrast shot of the red hot fire wood stove. Speaking of warm, it was 80ยบ Fahrenheit today in my neck of the woods.

Love the glow, in the embers, in this difficult photo!
