Description
Chartres Cathedral is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture. Constructed between 1194 and 1250.

And it's the first cathedral constructed in Europe with the (new) gothic style brought to France by the knights Templar from Jerusalem. It makes me wonder what the temple in Jerusalem actually looked like before it was destroyed in 72 AD. Thanks for posting this fantastic feat of architecture and sculpture!
