What's New with The Art Of Carol Cavalaris
Galleries: I currently exhibit my work in several Colorado galleries, including juried shows at Art At The Center in Nederland, and Gilpin County Art Association in Central City. I also exhibit in several on-line art galleries. I also have on-going exhibits at various banks, community centers, libraries, restaurants, and also participate in local Art Fairs and Festivals. Art Licensing: I am a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange, where my art is on a Dream Catcher Collection, as well as an exclusive figurine and sculpture collection. My art is also being licensed and is on a variety of products including: eSkins for laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc., puzzles that are being sold in Target, K-Mart, and other retail and web stores. Several of my pieces have been licensed by a company called The Mountain. They produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly T-shirts and other apparel, and have some of the finest wildlife and fantasy artists in the world on their team. Carol, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful Christmas image with us. I was very moved by your memories of you and your husband putting a new heart-shaped ornament on the tree every year. wow, Carol, even in working with a simple ornament, you created a big rupturing flowing spill of emotion and---well, history. I don't know how I explain that, it just feels like all those shapes and forms are like the rings of a tree, they have 'history' in them. I can't imagine what the actual ornament looks like---this is like a tree revealing its soul to the world. The top of the 'plant' looks like the trunk of a tree reaching into the sky, with blood red veins coursing through it. And the deer and snow are like one of those glass snow things---don't know the name: it's those glass orbs with water and little figures inside, and you shake them, and they 'snow'? That's what it looks like on top. With a tree on the left, and that bokeh'd green all around. It's so like your other images, in that it has that "ground" of deep hues swirling around, like the ground out of which the heart arises. And it has the feeling of memory too, it comes across powerfully. It's almost an ancient mask---it has eyes on top---one of those things that people wore to conjure their ancestors and the gods and goddesses...Big and passionate, a beautiful treatment of an ornament that has real meaning to you, and a wonderful wish and gift for all of us. I know your Christmas will be blessed, and thank you for blessing me in my life, and everyone else here week after week. LJ would be glowing from this image. Beautiful illustration Carol for the season, I can see a lot of thought and work went into this.
