Yikes! Imagine meeting one this size in one's kitchen! What I find most fascinating are the facet eyes. The different colors are interesting. But you've also gotten several of them which seem to be damaged. I wonder what this does to the fly's vision. Which leads me to wonder how its nervous system is organized and if the poor creature is capable of thinking. A very detailed and good macro. Keep up the good work! :-)

Some of the eyes are damaged, but a little behind the scenes in these images. The fly in photos is quite dead. I noticed it on the screen outside my bathroom a couple days ago. When it was still in the same spot this morning I poked at it and discovered it was not alive. I didn't feel bad about this since I didn't kill it for my use instead it died naturally.
