Description
Ok: This was the first drawing I did after joining RR.
A friend said, "why don't you use the 'Content Advisory' sign?
Here's the result.
So you know, this is a hippopotamus.
And there's no deep meaning to the "Content Advisory" thing. I just wanted to use it...
Finally, notice those 3 little dots on the feet of image 2?
Those are toes.
(Just so you knew.)
Have a wonderful week, all!
Mark
(I really did study animal drawing. I really did.
I don't remember any of it, but I really did...)

ROFLMAO! I love your cartoons; you DO remember what you learned, you just processed it differently than what they probably intended. The lines are perfect and convey the essence of the critter, including those toes. I would have known what they were without the hint! The bright colours in this remind me of a children's book. Spectacular stuff, Mark!!!!

The bottom hippo looks like he wants to give us all a giant hug & seems like the perfect avatar for your generous, exuberant & expansive spirit...

Mark, you absolutely made my day with these fun uploads you shared with us. As with all of your doodles these are both amusing and creative, showcasing your signature style. I always appreciate that the characters you create have such a joyful nature.

Hahaha:))))))))))) i do love the 'advisory' also!!! is it like saying: ''follow your heart:))))))or even a sign saying: 'STOP' now!! I LOVE BOTH a lot, Mark! The second seems that has wings and that is about to fly, but OK:) i agree with 'photosynthesis' and it is better a BIG HUG!!! And i die with the colors--yellow/green/yellow/green---and you opened the colors with the hippopotamus in a glorious white. This is SUPERB! I was not expecting this one, truth:)))) I love the sun and the herbs and i die to see the next 'double':) (I think that Helle is smiling 'ear to ear':))

OMG, you have broken through the bonds of mediocrity with this extravagant double portrait of African mammals at their finest, Mark. Nice stark bright colors, contrast and lines really set this beauty off. No confusion here - it explodes off the screen and into our laps. Sheer testimony that you haven't forgotten your animal drawing training. And, I like how you reduced minimalism down to its bare essentials using dots for toes. Actually, I thought at first it was an equivalent to the little suction cups on the bottom of the feet of geckos. To sum it up, this is utterly without precedent in the world of art.

HAHAA! This non expression hippo with the sign is hilarious and then comes the totally thrilled Hippo with his almost fully developed wings singing "I BELIEVE I CAN FLY" with a Goofy grin on his face. This made my intire morning, I tell ya. :-DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Need I say I love it ? :)))))))))))))))))))))))

Boy, this is terrific! That second one ... :) :D :D :) I don't think anyone has ever been THAT happy to see me! :) It's like the biggest smile, the biggest hug, the biggest welcome in the world. How could anybody look at that and not be instantly happy!?! These are great. A little bit different style from Helle's double portraits, but still in the same ... um ... er ... well, it's a double portrait, so it's perhaps the same format. :D Love 'em!
