Description
This doodle, entitled "I'll Do Better". was made in the vintage 2001 as a New Year card for my friends, but I feel it has survived and could be still quite applicable, with a few negligible changes, though.Ourselves, we hardly change, but we can try to avoid stepping on the very same personal rake so much. A Happy New 2015 to everyone. Thank you for being with me.

Your character is delightful! It so beautifully illustrates our internal critique, the nagging feeling that who we are isn't quiiiiite good enough. I'm sure it's universal, to a greater or lesser extent. As I get older, I've decided that those people who may be a little disappointed in me or in my behavior, can deal with it themselves. I'm aiming to do what makes me happy, and to upgrade that definition as I go along, as I learn. :) I hope you have a wonderful 2015, my friend, filled with much love and creativity!

Nikolay, I have no idea how I missed this, I don't know what planet I was on, or what I did with the ebot, but I was cleaning out my email and found this ebot and came here and jumped out of my seat. It's terrrrrrrific. I love this. It has all your humor, your wit, and your amazing sense of lived-life. I can see the scars from all those rakes; but what's so great about this face---and it's got to be the greatest holiday face I've ever seen---is that it isn't going anywhere, despite the blows and assaults it's received, and all the patchwork that's been done on it. An amazing stare on this guy---eyes are popping out as if to never give up, with glasses that have seen their day but won't budge, a great old patched hat---or is that patched hair?---and what looks like Merlin's gown: It's a magician's or sorcerer's gown, reminding us that, in the end, it's the magic and play that counts. And I love the way you crossed out dates, as if to say to the gods, "you didn't think I'd be here another year, but see? I haven't moved an inch!" Great artwork Nikolay, and with the same intensity as your photographic art; and it's really funny, and true. Well, a wonderful new year to you and for all you love, with, of course, beauty and joy, but also with lots of dances with rakes...as they say in America, if you can't beat 'm, join 'm; and, as the ancient Hindus said, it's proof that the highest state is play. I am speechless - because it is full of humour and it put immediately a smile on my face ... the look on his face is priceless ! it appears, as if he came straight from the salt-mines ? LOL but besides that, remember: "That the list of New Year's resolutions you made last year, can be used again. It's as as good as new" ... BB BTW - a prosperous, a healthy and a safe 'New Year for 2015' to you and family, Nikolay and may all those in charge of your country, go straight to where the sun doesn't shine anymore ;))
