Description

Winter didn't start till about the 29th, when we had the first real frost,so there were many things still in flower, or blooming early. I will make a separate montage of some of the camelias, which are well on the go already. I don't celebrate New Year as I dislike crowds, parties and alcoholic misbehaviour, so the dogs and I will be pleased when my neighbours fireworks are over! But to those of you who enjoy all that, I wish you a wonderful time! .

I'm with you, the thing I find remarkable is someone will go around at 12am wishing all a happy new year, then by 3 minutes past he or she want to kill someone, a completely illogical thing, mum will be watching Jools Holland's hootanany, and I will have headphones on doubtlessly listening to radio Mozart :) Then the brief exchange of good wishes, she back to Jools holland, and me switching the mute back to 100% volume hehe!

What a breathtaking collage Andrea. Each picture has a story of it's own. The beautiful mix of colors, and details are outstanding. P.S. We are in a deep freeze, windy and snowing today. Your awesome pic, has a way to fill the void of a warm sun. We don't do the Happy Dance either, loud crowds, loud music and sloppy behaviour is off our list too ! Jim and I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year Andrea.

You have a lovely garden Andrea. Wish mine was flat and not on 3 levels :)

Still colourful, love the frosty pics. Same as you with New Year Andrea, the girls will be off on the Lincolnshire Wolds, while the people who have money to burn let the fireworks off. x

I'm with you on the New Year's craze, my Friend! I like a nice, quiet, calm evening to bring in the New Year as well. Such a beautiful collage of the garden! Makes me miss my own already, and it's only January! :) Wish you and your family a happy, healthy and joyous 2015!

So much colour, and the garden wears its frost proudly. Your garden is always a delight. I also hate the new year celebration thing, I will likely be asleep long before (with the usual earplugs) and I won't know anything about it. I hope.

IF I stay up, it will be to get caught up on Rendo business and I'll have the headphones on to block out the noise of the (blank) fireworks Wonderful collection including the mask in the center Happy New Year

The plants in your garden must be so confused but they put on a beautiful display. I haven't been to a New Year's celebration in forty years but I do usually watch the countdown and then toddle off to bed.

Andrea, What a fantastic sight. YOu still have an amazingly beautiful garden. Thank you for sharing this. :))) We dont have parties either. We havent had it for over 35 years and it has just been wonderful without :-) We have some good food together, Per and I and thats all. I like to see firework..... ON TV, but I am horrified with the loud noice of the firework live. My ears can not mute it. As a child I was even afraid of balloons. Still am, actually. SO, if I hear a loud noice, all other noices get louder, instead of being muted automaticly. Another malfunction :-/

Your garden looks great at any time of the year but it's nice to see you still have a few flowers out.

A treat to see for any garden lover! You have such diverse plants and ornaments! We had fireworks going off all around us from 8pm?? until 2am?? Maybe some people can't tell the time!

Except for the center (frost) photo and the iced over pond - it looks like Spring to me! A lovely montage Andrea. Wishing you and the dogs a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year for 2015

Your garden looks beautiful in a frosty coat. So festive! :) We stayed home and left the drinking and dancing to those who like that sort of thing. I think Bill was in bed about 9:30, and I stayed up past midnight to finish a book. Aren't we fun? :)

As I look at this garden than there is enough joy to celebrate, Andrea. This is one big flower-party, and btw I went to bed before 12 o'clock with enough preparations to will fall asleep.

the center image is all droopy and exhausted, and I love the stringy 'bad hair day' quality of it. I don't get sad at the winter version of nature, it has a beauty all its own. The center looks like a bunch of people gathered in your backyard after a long pooped-out day, just thinking "god, what a day". The surrounding images have more life, but that's probably because we're seeing everything close up. Some frost, but more plants surviving the weather. I always like to see the details of your garden, the pots, the sculptures and found objects, and of course the flowers, seeds, etc. It's so nice that you do this every month so we can see it in all its phases. A very enticing montage.
