Description

I have always liked to take my landscape shots in the golden hour. I never thought it would have such an impact on animal photography. The late evening sun has given a golden glow to this fantastic creature! The main reason I went to the park in the snow, was to see this guy " Victor " as he is known. His area is so large he is often a dot in the corner of his cave. This time he did a tour around looking for his hidden snacks. When a creature eats 50 kgs of beef a day he shouldn't need snacks as well!

Magic shot mate. As you say, who'd have thought the golden hour good for animal shots. I did some flowers during it once, and they were nice, but it fiddles with the colours a bit, but this gold really suits a polar bear Kev.

An amazing image as he looks a little more comfortable in the snow than the zebra! :) I do a lot of wildlife photography Kevin and that golden hour is precious, especially here in South Africa with our very harsh sunlight. In summer we can photograph wildlife from sunrise to 9am latest and then again from around 4pm to sunset. You caught the bear at the perfect time. Well done!
