Description

Saturday morning Jack and Vera showed up at the studio. After we guided her to the lounge, where we had a cup of coffee, I explained Vera the situation in the studio and told her where what was. We cleared all low objects over what she possible could stumble, so she could move rather safely. They had brought in a suitcase with clothes for the two of them. They told me, they never did a real photo-shoot before, but they were very curious about it. To comfort Vera, I placed her in the big black chair, so she had much support while moving to a different pose. Jack was always at hand to help her if necessary, but Vera was keen on doing it all by herself, even if it takes some more time. She was dressed in her pants and a shirt and for the moment that was good enough. Later on we will pay more attention to her fashion. The first problem we encountered was that Vera reacted different from my earlier photo models. "Look to the camera", or "Turn that way please" doesn't work if your model has no eyesight. It causes some hilarious moments. I had to work with sounds or direction orders. Vera had also the annoying habit to turn her head to any sound she heard. Logical if you look with your ears. So it took a while to get customize to each other. But it was most of the time fun for both parties. In this stage, I shoot several pictures like this one, most of them with Vera and a few with Jack. But there was something bothering me. Something was missing in her pictures. I couldn't lay a finger on it, but it didn't feel right. Jack and I discussed it and look over the pictures again, and then I discovered what the problem could be. Left-click in the image for more detail.
