Description
Her heart was heavy as she looked down at her old Thoroughbred gelding as he lay in the spring sunshine. Her hand stroked his neck as she remembered the adventures they had had together: the trails traveled, the ribbons won.
Age and sickness had taken their toll on the old boy and winter had been hard on him.
It was time to let him move on to the big pasture in the sky, to run free of pain and fear, to be free.
She would never forget him. He had earned a place in her heart forever.
Dedicated to my horse, Annapolis, who died last April, one week short of his 35th birthday.
