That's a LOT of pigeons! And clearly someone is feeding them, too. Fantastic shot, and I'll bet the cooing was deafening!

I know I could find a more spectacular shot for my 'finish' tonight, but I chose this because it's spectacular in another way---it's in the category with your padlock shots, gloriously messy visual splash, a carnival of pigeons with all those bread crumbs and harmonizing dots and splotches on the pigeons' wings---it's like someone dressed them in those patterns to harmonize with the crumbs. Your postwork brings out the 'dots' in this shot very strongly. I love these kinds of splash-shots of yours, chaotic while obviously contained (a concentrated gathering). And a share of stray wanderers to balance out the bird-collisions---ie, a pigeon in front heading somewhere, one on the far right (bottom) who's had enough and is headin' out, some dude on the far left (bottom) visible only through his tail, who's probably on his cellphone, one flying in (in back), and so on. I like that you let some of them be cut off, random, etc. Looks like there's fruit in there too. A pigeon carnival, and I love it. (Do they ever ask for whole grain bread? Sprouted grains? Do they ever say, "just because we're pigeons doesn't mean we have no taste!" I'd just once like to see a pigeon say, "is this the best you can do???") Also, the curve of the wall in back adds a real twist to the shot, totally unexpected. And there's one confluence---the gathering in the lower left---where it looks like they're piled on top of each other to get at a rare clump of caviar. To use a Steve Martin line, it's a wild and crazy shot. Love it. (I went over an hour for 6 shots! I'll be back for more very soon, I promise...)
