Description
I saw a news headline just before Christmas, It stated that a young girl of 9, on her way home from school had been knocked down and killed by a drunk driver, They caught the driver because she was so drunk she couldn't walk.
That got me thinking about how unsafe this world is getting for our future generations, Over the last couple of years we seem to have been making a concerted effort to eliminate as many children as possible. Drunk drivers as above, A trigger happy policemen shooting a child waving a toy gun, religeous fanatics entering a school and shooting as many children as they could, A maniac father killing his 2 children because he'd had an argument with his wife, the list is virtually endless and worldwide.
I have to believe that there is a special kind of hell reserved for the people who deliberately target children, There is no justification, non whatsoever for this kind of behaviour, There are enough children die from illness or accidents without this trend of killing them off early.
Our children are the future of this world, without them there is no future
let's all do what we can to protect them or we will all be running scared.

My Dear Friend, you've put this so well, such a horrific reality, and in so few words... if it were me, I'd probably ramble on and on and on.... it is so true, but rarely do we stand back to look at such issues from a macro-cosmic view... we just keep on enduring whatever happens day by day.... and finally so many have become neutral to it. Your image has such sad connotations, what a sad expression... her eyes alone seem to be mourning and grieving from a loss of innocence perhaps. So delicately put and most appropriate of images... sad, and morbid..... but the image of the young child is nevertheless beautiful; reminding us of what is important.
