Description

Special Notes: The last story I posted, The Clattering, had Keal discovering the sounds of creation for the first time; A thing all Jackdaws already know. Would you like to hear 'The Clattering'? It is a very real thing and we Terrestrial Earthlings have discovered it quite some time ago. Most likely due to secret undercover Daraians hiding on Earth. - Hey, you never know. At no time in the story did I mention how the universe was created, only that the sounds of it's creation remain. And that part is not science fiction. In fact, there was a lot of science fact in the last story. The radio Keal built really can be built, and the sounds he listened to are real. If you would like to hear what Keal was listening to in the classroom with the hatchlings, here is a link to youtube and you can listen. I wanted to give you a link to the live feed from the astronomy listening web site, but it looks like they ran out of funds and went belly up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MmWeZHsQzs

I've no doubt that the sounds are true and real. just don't tell one branch of the political party (ones who just now control both the House and Senate) as they would call you a heretic or worse. Very cool

The best fiction is based on reality. Your science project reminds me of some of the work Ray and I did with the K-4 classes when the girls were little.

Went and listened - makes me think of IronButterflys 'Butterfly Blue' from the 7 min to 12 min spot and the last min from 13 to 16. Another album that became a frisbee when my son and his friend threw them out over the river, amazing he is still able to function :) - went and listened to that also on the net, great memories!

Most ethereal sounds from outer space! I like your photo of the stereoscope and basket. Excellent work!

Jumping in a bit late, and I'm slowly but surely (did I mention slowly?) catching up with the zillions of things I've been wanting to do since last autumn: you know, turning on my laptop long enough to at least see Renderosity? Anyway, I'll be catching up and commenting on this great tale (I've already started but I have yet to comment: hopefully later this weekend I'll get enough time to comment on at least ONE part of it.) Anyway, I loved getting a peek at these notes, and yeah, ain't radio-astronomy cool; the fact that we can "hear" the background fade-out of the birth of the universe is pretty wonderful! It's quite an odd experience to be living in an age in which science is allowing us to actually experience things that were--just 3 decades ago--little more than speculation. I'm looking forward to catching up. (Oh yeah, and this is why I love science fiction: it's the only form of literature that concerns itself with with truly universal issues: how odd (and sometimes-human-ego-crushing) that experience can be. I find it amazingly exhilarating.

That was totally cool. I opened the link, saw it was going to be seven minutes long, and thought, "well, I'll listen for a couple minutes" ... and the next thing I knew, it was over. Fabulous! Thanks for the link!
