Hi, and welcome to my Artist's Page! In addition to being a novelist, (Glamour Job: A Fairy-tale for Grown-ups), I'm a professional actor and I've been doing illustrations for magazines and books for over 30 years. I'm a big fan of Gil Elvgren, Will Elder, Wally Wood, Richard Corben, Joe Chiodo, Monkeypunch, and Masume Shirow. Their influences show in my work. I now live in New York City.

Oh, this just takes my breath away! What an expression on that face! Beautiful...you might want to change the color on arm to hand to blend a little better, where the cloud obscures the hand. Oh My god, its gorgeous! Beautiful dress too, and great job on the wings.

This is a beautiful angel Doug, and the title is a perfect match for the picture. Good job.

Great work Doug. The expression on the face is magical and the soft touch of the whole work is superb. I really like how you have the dress fading into the clouds, it gives her an ethereal feel. Looking forward to seeing more.

A breathtaking work! This reminds me of the angels painted on the ceilings of great cathedrals. I hope you do more like this!

Thanks you guys. I am happy that you like my angel. For those of you who zeroed in on the hand, let me 'splain. I was going for a hands-bound allegory thing with the clouds. Shades of Wim Wenders. She feels your pain she's desperate to do more than just observe, but her hands are tied hence her look of sorrow and heart-felt compassion.
