Description

Standing on Ganymede is only possible with "Surroundpix" technology. This is the first image I'm posting of a graphic novel I did during the 2005-06 period. Set in the 2150s, the story is about the first humans to visit an Earthlike planet orbiting Alpha Centauri "A". Here, the guy who is to preside over the mission gets some training in a 3D surroundpix room much like the Holodeck of Star Trek fame. To avoid getting confused with reality, people in these surroundpix rooms can see they cast no shadows on their surroundings except when shadow casting is selected. All models by me except the human Poser figure which I converted to a Lightwave object for this scene. The pics are rather small but that was the resolution I thought best for the 14 inch monitors of the time.
