Description
Rendered in vue2014.5 final quality with photometric lighting.
This one was a bit of a battle spent 2 days messing with the lighting and testing it then when I set it off to render at my now normal size 0f 3850x2160 @600 DPI 32 GB of RAM was not really enough RAM usage stuck at 100% and the pc was very slow to respond so stopped the render and reduced the size everything went well then at the end i noticed the lion at the bottom was floating oh dear I said ! re rendered just the bit with the lion having dropped him down on the ground and quick paste it in photoshop and all is well . Now Im wondering if to change the rock texture?
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and comments .Visit my website at www.jantaramugs.co.uk where many of my images are available on phone and ipad cases

Details are impressive and the realism of your scene and of the light superb, éven fot the lions.. I know the problem of rendering time too! Just a question: what is this luminous thing in the big crack of the rocks? (I mean in the shadow at the bottom)
iborg64
I think the area your refering to as a luminous area maybe light shining through from the other side , the rocks are made from several sections one is more arch shaped but angled away from the view the lighting is supposedly the best that vue can do , ie photometric with globial radiosity and indirect atmospherics , the rock surface is quite reflective and the scene extends quite a way behind what you can see so maybe light is reflected back through I think anyway

The lighting and rock textures are excellent! Very good use of light scattering effect

Amazing Creation !

This is very cool. Nice rock formations, but I see what you mean. There seem to be some odd lines or cracks that don't quite match the formation. Unfortunately I don't have an immediate suggestion. Sometimes scaling the texture differently can fix that. It may be that a bump is not matching the scale of the texture whether it's a bitmap or procedural. I wish I had 32 gb of RAM. My current PC is limited to 16 and I"m using 12. I'm not sure if 4 more GB is worth the money, unless it's going to boost render time and scene manipulation by double. Probably not.

There are unusual fissures that appear as dark lines - chalk it up to paintings by primitive man. The image itself is amazing. One would think you had taken a photo.

Nice creation, well done. Hope to see a new version with all the suggestions people made, instead of moving on to the next image.
