along with your family portrait (which I loved---I mean the one a few uploads before this), with this you're exploring human emotion in it's purest form. (Well the family portrait wasn't exactly 'human', but it was humanoid...and delightful...) The shadows here are golden-peach-hued tones, which are brought out by your delicate lights on her face, and by the sheer gold tones in her hair. Her lips also have a peach-red-rust tone, which harmonize with her skin. And while her torso faces the light---which seems quite intense (a bleaching yellow)---you've presented her to us looking away from that light, and immersed in herself. She has a very slight smile (reminiscent of the huge faces of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom), which feels like smile enough to tell the outside world she's in peace, but subtle enough to communicate privacy, inwardness, etc. (I can't help use yogic terms here: The faces of Angkor are of Hindu origin, which is where the yogic world comes from. And their famous smiles are smiles, but not fully so. That's from the notion that a person in inner bliss gives just enough smile to tell the world, but no more, because they're, well, in bliss...) Nice dark on her hair, on our left. And the sky is a golden yellow---harmonious with bliss. A fine delicate portrait. I imagine pieces like this, one after the next, are explorations of the human form and expression. This one is quite peaceful and radiant.
