When I first discovered this macro world of amazing color and design I never expected that 22 months later I would still be posting so many different types of moths and bugs....Many of these creatures are only fingernail size which with the aid of an 18mp Sony HX20V camera and Photoshop it has been possible to present them to the world. To the naked eye they appear as dark shapes which most people would not notice...All these pictures are taken at night on our upper balcony and none of them have been harmed. We live next to a rainforest which may account for the amazing variety.....I hope you enjoy them, and thanks in advance for any views & comments..

lovely beetle. such incredible little brute in stature & i'm thinking about the strength of his legs. one time, i found a beetle, i'm guessing, that was 4-5x the size of this guy [i'm using the macro of the locust as reference for size and assuming that locust are the same size here in the states as they are down under], and tho' he was dead and rigor had set in, in holding him in my hand, i'll n'er forget the way his legs/feet felt strong, even in death...
