Description
Supermarine Spitfire P7308 of 71 'Eagle' Squadron, as flown by Pilot Officer Bill Dunn.
Bill Dunn was born November 16th 1916 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dunn enlisted in the US Army in 1934 serving as an infantryman until being Honourably Discharged in 1935. As Europe headed towards war in 1939, Dunn enlisted in the Canadian Army, attaining the rank of Sgt Major before joining the RAF. After completing RAF Flying School at Tern Hill, England, on April 16, 1941, Pilot Officer Dunn was assigned to No 71 Squadron, the initial 'Eagle' Squadron. Between May and August 1941 Bill Dunn scored 5 confirmed kills making him the first American fighter 'ace' of WWII.....
I knew I had this skin for my Spitfire 'somewhere'....took a while to find it but here it is.......
Thanks to Tryphon for the RAF gear, the renders just wouldn't be the same without it....

Nice render. Welcome back. Tryphons gear works well. By the way, where is Tryphon?

The pilot looks a bit stiff - has he fallen into the glue, or is he scared of the bloke coming toward him? So much depends on the ground crew - best treat them VERY well! Cool job with the plane and the sand bag emplacement. Yes, where IS Tryphon? Has this mystery something to do with Tailspin test flying planes again (ie Tryphon hiding in a deep bunker?). Keep up the good work! :-)
