Description

It's the year 2058. The once mighty USA is now a third world country, barely surviving by borrowing heavily from emerging super-powers like Nigeria and Zimbabwe. Microsoft is an Arab company headquartered in Khartoum, Sudan. US government agencies run with minimal budgets. To compensate for lack of funds, the tax laws are strictly enforced. The US Internal Revenue Services has been given the authority to execute summarily anybody who cheats on his/her tax return. During the tax season, IRS auditors are dispatched throughout the country to warn people of the dire consequences awaiting them if they are late filing their tax returns, or if their tax filings are not 100% truthful. In this scene, two of the most distinguished IRS auditoresses Aliya (left) and Latoya (right), are in a bar in the Old West explaining to the customers that when they say that tax laws are strictly enforced, they really mean it.

Now these are some serious tax collectors... though I don't think anyone would mind paying their taxes to these two... great work!!

I think I don't quite understand the meaning/the background of the story (fear of Arabian/African domination?), but the idea of the IRS ladies is great and the picture too!

Thanks Sandrose for your comments. I did not mean to be offensive to anybody, even though the story might lead one to think I did. It is already an accepted idea that USA will not fare better than a 3rd world country few decades from now, considering its dilapidated education system and the decaying state of its infrastructure. By telling that Nigeria and Zimbabwe are emerging super-powers I was not trying to instill any fear of African domination, I was only trying to convey the idea that few decades from today the world will be very different from what it is now. By telling that Microsoft is an Arab company headquartered in Khartoum, Sudan I was only trying to be funny. I assume, based on your avatar, that you are yourself of Arab or middle-eastern origin. Please rest assured that I do not have any anti-Arab sentiments. I consider that Arabs are, contrary to the bad publicity given to them by the medias, are truly a proud and open culture with a deep sense of honor. I do have issues with religious zealots though. I make a very clear distinction between Arabs and religious zealots, the same way I make a clear distinction between Germans and nazis. The duty of an artist, hobbyist or professional alike, is to be aware oh his/her world. Putting a half-naked Victoria in the middle of some scenery and hitting the render button isn't exactly what I call art. Most of the images in my gallery try to tell a story. Please look at my 'Wars of Galaxies' or my 'Fun Nights In Dubai' images where you will see more of my story-telling efforts.

The "Story" is still continuing to write its lines on The Book...and as the maestro used to sang : "The times they are a-changin'..." Well we can consider that they (USA) have preserved their Second Amendment that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. (Even the oldies as we are now in 2058...) So, this evoques that I I would live the fall of the Empire ? Why not as History is full of bounces...

Heh! The image works with the dry humor to undermine the initial "OMG TAXES!!!1!" concept and by the end of the narrative the wink at the "End of American Exceptionalism" is very apparent. Though, I do expect our neighbors to the south to go down with a bang and very little whimpering before it all goes Thunderdome! The idea of the IRS going full-on "Hooters" is hilarious, too. Bread and circuses for the 21st century...

Might be worth messing up your tax return if inspectors looked like this! The figure on the left looks curiously like a cardboard cutout ?!
