after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve

Fantastic work despite your problems !

Sorry to hear about these issues you have, that's frustrating - yep, sounds like hardware restrictions... had similar problems earlier too, esp. low RAM and using other applications in parallel - my new machine resolved all these... Excellent scene anyway, my friend!

Holy frak, Steve! I'm amazed at what you were able to do here with only 2gigs of RAM - this is truly outstanding, buddy! Wow! I'd hand her a napkin, but she does look a little dangerous.... :-D I'd prefer to keep all my fingers! Yeah, I'd upgrade the RAM to 4 gigs as soon as you can afford to. I'd guess that your OS is probably 32-bit, so you're pretty much limited to 4gigs of RAM. Poser is a real test of a system's abilities. It's a powerful application, and uses a lot of resources. I have 3 machines that run Poser, and the least amount of RAM I have is 16gigs. And definitely as someone mentioned, a separate video card (Nvidia preferably) rather than integrated video is best. Despite all the problems, you really created a masterwork here, bro!

simply fantastic vampire piece very well done!!!

what is running in the background could slow your computer down also. need to check the applications that are running and stop the ones that are not needed. windows has many things in other words garbage that is not needed for anything. for instance a program like daz studio wants to run all the time even if one is not using it and many others are the same

Sucks when your computer doesn't run like you want! Mine used to be a lot faster, I need to clean a lot of files off it. It's 1 terabyte and almost full, and the salesperson said I would never use that much space! Love your vamp, she looks like she was caught in the cookie jar or should we say jugular vein! And so polite she is!

Hey... awesome Image my friend, even with the problems you've been having... I for one can under stand, seeing that I have had the same problems with my systems in the past... also the same warning messages. and I can tell you right now 2GBs won't be enough to make those great work of yours... I'm not to sure about poser 9 , but with poser 8 I had problems with it on a computer of mine that had 3GBs of RAM... it kept crashing on me. but when I changed to a 4GB system it worked fine! I believe it should work with a 4GB system, but then you may have to go to more.. one question... do you have any other programs open at the same time as poser?... I bet P6 would work great on your newer computer... I hope my comment is of help... and hope you figure things out, so we can see more of your great work!!! have a good one!!

Well with all your problems you still are able to produce a WOW image. I have several suggestions, some have already been told to you. Memory is the key... 2 GB is at the low end for Poser 9 and you will always be running out. My system is an 8 core (yours is a 4) with 10 GB RAM a 3.4 Ghz processor and a 2 T hard drive. You need to get your memory up to at least 4 GB and even then you may still run out... my old system had 4 and it still crashed a lot when I migrated from poser 7 to poserpro2012, A separate video card with lots of memory will speed up your set up of the scene and allow you to add more characters or create a bigger image... but it will not speed up rendering too much. The video card is where your set up memory can draw from if available. The message saying cannot load texture is telling you that you have run out of video memory. You need to put more memory on your video card or get a video card with more memory. In the meantime there are some things you can do. 1) Reduce bucket size - this means the computer will not have to process as much data at any one time and will put less stress on your RAM memory. 2) Reduce the size of your rendered image. When view full size I see you are way way big, you fill my large screen several times. There is no need to render so big an image unless you are going to print them Try putting a maximum edge size of some 1500 pixels and a resolution of 200. You do not need more for screen shots... it is just a waste of processing power. A smaller image will render a lot faster and with less memory demands. 3) Render as a separate process. This one will make a huge difference to your memory demands. 4) When you do a render, don't do anything else with your computer, shut down all other programs. You might even consider, after setting up an image, save it and turn off your computer. This assures a RAM memory flush. Then turn it on and go straight to doing the render. This is a bit of a pain, but with only 2 MB you need to free up every bit possible. All these suggestions will resolve issues 2 and 3. You need to put less stress on your limited render resources i.e. your 2 MB of RaM. Smaller images with lower resolution and smaller bucket size so less area is rendered at any one time will all work to resolve this issue. Try bucket size of 16 or 8. Doubling your memory to 4 MB would help quite a bit but that costs some loot, whereas the other suggestions work with what you have. With a 4 core system you really need to be running renders as a separate process. Eight core and more let you run multiple process, but even with an 8 core I run mine as a separate process. In fact I have three computers one of which is pretty much dedicated to just doing poser and photoshop and not both at the same time. It is almost strictly a graphics related machine.. Hope this helps. You still have some tweaking to do but ultimately you need to put more memory on your video card and your RAM slots if you want to avoid the risk of crashes. Save your work often!
brewgirlca
Rod is right, a nivedia video card with as much memory as you can afford will help you get past the texture problem. Adding RAM memory will not help resolve this problem... it is all video memory related. If you are running a 32 MB bus on anything less than say windows 7 you will only be able to put on 4 MB RAM... but it would help a lot with your render issues.
adorety
Despite your issues the render came out very good and she looks sweet and frightening all at once. I wold suggest you max the RAM on your computer as soon as you can afford to.

Super image Steve!!! Good luck with your new PC!

I'm sorry to hear that you have such problems with Poser 9. For your render but has become still fabulous! Great done, Steve!

I've run into memory problems myself..Very frustrating... One great render, glad you got it to process..

Sorry about your problems. Curiously I get most of those kind of errors using Vue. Poser just freezes my electric brain - I'm still on my 'Assignment: Outer Space' kick. Very cute results nevertheless.
