Description
[Continues an intermittent series of renders loosely based on Stephen Hunt's Jackelian series of novels. Nothing is directly from the novels, but the images might evoke some characters and some events.]
I'd moved far along with this sequence when I realized I didn't had an establishing view of the docks, so here it is. The next image will make more sense now.
We see the docks more or less from the viewpoint of the gentleman and steamman taking the stairs down to the Docks. The small submarine at the wood dock is a Cassarabian trader. The uniformed sailors are crew from the large Jackelian navy gunboat in the center. There is a dark, mysterious u-boat at the end of the dock. We also see a heavily laden riverboat turning into the dock area. It's cargo will be transferred to one of the ocean-going craft at the docks.
The sailors on the dock are M4 in Varsel's free European Navy Uniform. The running figure is M4 in the Steampunk Cowboy outfit from DAZ and Jonnte's Steampunk Cap. The Cassarabians are the LoRez Arab (DAZ) with Rosemaryr's free turban.
The set is built from elements of Dark Anvil's Moorings and Roland85's Old Quay with some Accessories for Tansy's Dock (Content Paradise). Visible at the docks from left to right are my steam submarine, the steampunk version of my Keokuk Ironclad, and Helmut Schaub's Nautilus. There are four Songbird Remix cormorants in the foreground. The jetty on the horizon is modified from the Oceanfront Movie Set. The land is built from Rubicon Digital's Poser Mountain, the water is from the Lake Village (DAZ), and the skydome is Flink's Sunset. The small boat turning into the dock docks is Illkirch's Medieval River Ship crewed by Lorenzo Lorez in Illkirch's medieval garb.
