Based on the leaves I'd hazard a guess this is a mimosa tree in bloom. Very nice.

My wife, she's from spain, saw this photo and said "es una mimosa". Then it must be so. LOL... Excellent shot, really beautiful blossoms

I was going to hazard either bottlebrush or mimosa, and it seems that Mrs. Klaus has the ID. Do you recall if it had any aroma? What a beautiful capture of a really lovely flower!

First, re your "This is beyond my limited floral knowledge": Believe me, you're hardly limited in your knowledge---it's rare that you don't know a specie. And I can see that some of the experts, above, struggled to find the name, too. As Giuliano says (guilband), this is very well composed, with beautiful contrasts between flower and background. And the white centers are the finishing touches, as are the white 'tendrils' coming out of them. I assume your fine postwork helped this; and in any case, it's very delicately captured. The leaves at the bottom-left are like an open arm to the flower---a very sweet touch. Beautifully done, Harry, as are all your flower captures. A burst in the face, with very fine contrasts. Well to show you how slow I am today, I just did 100 minutes, and just did 8 images. That's less the 3 per half hour! I think that's a record for me. Sorry---I'm just not moving fast right now. But it was a pleasure regardless, and I hope to speed up soon. (I'm also on a very old laptop, as my new computer is in for repair. The thing weighs 9 million tons---a real JOY to carry into the Apple Store.) But despite the few comments, it was a joy as always.
