Beautiful photo. There's a certain atmosphere around a railway in winter. The locomotive sure gives a bit of scale to the openness around the track. Being alone, it accentuates the isolation of the place. Keep up the good work! :-) PS - I remember the freights running in to/out from New York City in the 1950s. 4 - 6 locomotives and some 200+ freight cars. Mighty impressive!

a fine flat expanse, so typical of rail lines in the countryside (or at least outside a big city), with a very midwestern feel to it. It's almost melancholy to see a lone engine like that, making its way across all that expanse. The blank walls on both sides of the tracks give the piece an empty, lazy, cold-day feel. Boy it looks cold out there...
