Description

Going out for the night? Don't get stuck in the traffic jams that plague the city, book your personal air taxi and fly above the problems! Available straight to any rooftop near you. Only 40 credits for an evening return trip. ______________________ This started as a test of the new Zmodeler functions in Zbrush, and developed into this. I am loving it, it allows you to play with vertex modelling in a way that I don't think I would do in a conventional modeller - I would never have come up with this design just by planning it! Once exported from Zbrush, I added surfaces in Carrara and rendered in Octane Render for Carrara with the Barcelona Rooftops sIBL HDR background. Thanks for looking - I hope you like it. Phil

That does look awesome. The texture is really fantastic as well. I haven't been in Zbrush in a while, you got nice results!

Definitely worth upgrading to 4R7 for the new modelling tools.

Very nice! A cool design and a racy red paint job, to boot! The new polygon modelling tools are killer. I was quite surprised by easy it was to start doing useful work with them. Based on the summit video, I thought it would be ridiculously complicated but they're so easy to play with. Pixologic may just have done for hard-body modelling what they've done for organics-- at least as far purely creative work goes.

I like the plastic feel to the craft and lighting in this. Great colours. I've just been reading about Octane. Think I might need to save up for a while. Fantastic job.

Very cool taxi design Phil! Hadn't tried Z-Brush (I do know of it and how it works - its essentially clay scuplting but in digital 3d), but it does look fun. You do have a good point there, with how Z-Brush differs from traditional vertex modeling programs. Little details like you did on the rear fins, as well as the front side fender chasis - probably doable in say Hexagon, with some extruding so as long as you have some polys sectioned off in those areas to start with. In Z-brush (couple other programs come to mind), all that probably took was a few brush strokes and done. Z-brush takes care of the hard work of the extra polys needed to get the effect on the mesh.

The new Zmodeller tool opens up a whole range of polygon modelling tools, as well as its more traditional clay modelling techniques, and you can mix and match both toolsets as you want - very powerful.
