Description
- Girlfriends Jacqueline and Jeanette are on holiday away from their homes in Nantes, and during lunch at a small cafe they are writing postcards for their loved ones.

Vue render, character setup in DAZ Studio, minor finishing touches in Photoshop.
A lot of custom tweaking here, incl. UV-mapping a free fountainpen from ShareCG, and texturing of the free vintage car models, and other custom texturing. Subtle SSS skin effects on the girls.
Looking at the finalized render, I think that the cobblestone texture (based on my own photos) may be just a little too big. Also, regarding composition, the left side should be cropped a bit, but I choose to leave as it is.
It may a bit silly, but I had great fun making this, posing etc. the characters and adding the details for a (hopefully) believable mid-sixties French small town springtime impression.
I also learned something: At 5 raytrace bounces, the liquids in the glasses did NOT look right (too murky), so I had to turn it up to 6. Thats a first :) "Physically accurate caustics" caused undesirable diffuse dispersion on the girls' hands, so I didn't use it.

This is a huge undertaking from the flowers, the items on the table, the background figures, the positioning of the two foreground figures right down to the woman holding the pen, this is absolutely excellent.
